Celebrate spring by learning about the amazing natural transformation that turns tadpoles into frogs. Learn facts, ask questions, hear a story, join in a sing-along, and make your own craft frogs!
How does a water-breathing, swimming animal with fins, a long tail, and no legs turn into a four-legged, air-breathing animal without a tail that hops around both on land and in water? Join us as we explore one of nature's most remarkable animal transformations: the metamorphosis of a tadpole (or pollywog) into an adult frog. We'll learn what life is like for these amphibians that emerge from their winter hibernation in the springtime and their environmental significance, including the important role they play for humans in dealing with pesky insects. We'll have a brief presentation about the life cycle of frogs, meet a couple of frog characters from stories, have a sing-along with fun movements, and get a chance to make and/or color a frog using basic craft materials. Age 3-10.
