I love pizza. I mean REALLY love pizza! And I usually consider myself pretty well versed on various types and styles of pizza. But somehow, I have never tried or even heard about Detroit style pizza until this year. Now, though, everywhere I look I see talk of Detroit style pizza - its all the rage!
Lucky for us all, Chef Tony Marciante, known around Montgomery County for Chef Tony's delicious restaurant on St. Elmo Ave. in Bethesda (and now with a second location in the Promenade!) is bringing us Hemi Pizza, Detroit style pizza, "crafted on a focaccia style dough, buttery crust and two 'racing stripes' of sauce on top." Every pizza features four types of cheese including "Wisconsin Brick" cheese.
Hemi Pizza is officially opening on February 5, 2021. They're launching with two options only (with more offerings coming, per their website)...the Original (cheese) and the Cup-per (pepperoni). I can't wait to check it out! Opening a new restaurant during a pandemic has got to be a special kind of stressful. Next time you're in the mood for pizza, check out Hemi Pizza and support local business!
Follow Hemi Pizza on Instagram "hemipizza" to see more!
You can pickup curbside or get delivery, locally, as well.
